A Special Welcome

Palo Cristi welcomes all couples who wish to be legally married in a Christian ceremony.

Due to the nature of this sacred commmitment, we do ask that couples spend time with our pastor to discuss their readiness to enter into it, and participate in any necessary counseling before the ceremony takes place.

Our Mission

The mission of Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church is to follow the calling “to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God" (Micah 6:8):

To fulfill this mission, we ask the Holy Spirit to help us:

  • Share our faith stories that others may come to know God’s love
  • Maintain an ongoing commitment to Environmental Justice, Peacemaking, and Evangelism
  • Continue a strong commitment to mission outreach; participating in local, national, and international mission outreach projects
  • Offer an open and loving community of acceptance to everyone

Summer Food Challenge

After very successful "Food Fights" the previous two summers, we queried the Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank. While they were certainly appreciative of the huge amount of food collected, everyone recognized the somewhat artificial nature of the activity. It turns out that some of the heavier items collected (like large bags of rice) needed to be divided up by Food Bank personnel.

In fact, gifts of money are perhaps more helpful to Agua Fria than actual food in terms of being able to help people; they are also able to "stretch" contributions by buying from sources that provide "deals" to Food Banks.
So this year, the Session decided to see how much money we could collect for Agua Fria. An anonymous family in the congregration has offered to match 50 cents on every dollar collected up to $500. Other challengers are welcome --bring it on!

Summer Worship

Yes, it's hot in Phoenix; it always is in the summer. Many of our congregation are lucky to have a cooler place to spend time over this time, but for everyone else Palo Cristi is "open for business" all summer. Join us for fellowship, praise, and worship each Sunday when you are in town!
